On Sunday 24th February we held our second Wedding Fair here at Walcot Hall. The day was buzzing with lots of brides and grooms and over 30 fantastic suppliers including A2Zest who hosted a ‘pop up cafe’ in the Anteroom serving drinks and lunches through out the day. Other suppliers included: Hiring Miss Daisy, The Traveling Vintage Llama Tearooms, Trixipix photo booth’s, Lavender Blue venue decoration and flowers, Shropshire Country Brides, Sweet New’s sweet carts, Oliver Swan photography, Ironbridge Catering, Sarah Jane Midwood flowers and many more!
On arrival brides got given a goodie bag which included a wedding magazine, handmade soaps and bath bombs, rose petal confetti from Shropshire Petals, skin care samples and a CD from The Hot Jazz Biscuits. Guests also had a glass of fizz (from Tipples Bar’s) and canapes (from A2Zest).
At 2pm we had our Bridal Catwalk show which showed a stunning collection of off the peg and custom made wedding dresses by My Little Wedding Shop and Castle Brides. Men’s wear, bridesmaids dresses and bridal wear were also provided by Ludlow Brides.
The real show stopper was for Julia Pugh, Walcot Hall’s Wedding and Events Planner who was running the Catwalk show and Fair. Just as it was nearing the finale Julia’s partner Jay came through the door, walked down the aisle and said “Excuse me everyone, may I just have a minute” to which he then asked Julia to come forward in front of about 200 eager and intrigued audience members. He then got down on one knee and produced a box with a rather spectacular engagement ring inside! He then popped the question! Julia of course said “YES” much to the audiences delight who then proceeded to cheer and clap with joy! It was a rather spectacular moment which was captured by Spinning Your Dreams Photography.
We will be holding another Wedding Fair next Spring, who knows what that one will bring!
- Just before he popped the question!
- It fits!
- A very happy ending!
- Very happy Julia!
