On Sunday 3rd and Monday 4th of June from 1.30-5.30 our gardens will be open to the public. You will get chance to have tea and cake in the Ballroom and also get a chance to see the Main Hall.

There also will be plants on sale.

Children have free entry and adults are £3.50

Walcot Hall’s Wedding Fair

Walcot Hall, wedding venue located in South Shropshire, have just held our first ever wedding fair on April 28th. It was a fantastic day that was very well attended. Brides were greeted with a goodie bag on arrival as well as canapes and bucks fizz.

There were over 25 suppliers at the wedding fair ranging from: Wedding dresses from Castle Brides in Bishops Castle and My Little Wedding Shop in Bridgnorth. The caterers were Roslin; they set up a pop up cafe in the anteroom next to our roaring log fire serving afternoon tea on cake stands. Guests could listen to live acoustic music while they were eating.

Other suppliers at our wedding fair were The Vintage Occasion crockery hire, Music Wedding Videos; these guys are uber cool, they film footage from your big day and make it into a music video to a song of your choice. Dulcie Blue Bakery provided stunning cakes and we got to taste them too! We even had Feather Perfect Falconry in the courtyard which was a huge hit with the children (and adults!)

Flowers from Lavender Blue, Sarah Jane Midwood and Caroline Ede all went down well!

In the Main Hall we held the Bridal Catwalk show which was sold out! Two wedding shops Castle Brides and My Little Wedding Shop provided the dresses. There were 15 models in total all who had their hair put up by Bubbles in Bishops Castle and makeup by Rachel Chelmick. The models walked down the grand staircase in the hall and down the aisle giving you a real sense of what it would be like to actually get married there. Mister Fox our highly recommended DJ was there to help us with the catwalk music.

We are looking to hold another wedding fair in the autumn or next spring. Any feedback you have from the day or any suggestions of what you would like to see would be highly welcomed! Finally thank you for all the suppliers and guests that attended.

We are having a Wedding Fair on 28th April 12-4 free entry. A catwalk show will be on at 2.00 with bridal several designer names to look at. Places must be booked in advance as spaces are limited!

Gipsy Caravan

We have just revamped our gipsy caravan. There are a few touches yet to be added such as a new log burner we have just ordered, but I hope you’ll agree that it is looking lovely! We used some pretty vintage strawberry wallpaper from Laura Ashley. The seat fabric is from Deck Chair Stripes and the yellow gingham fabric and buttons from Ebay, I found this wonderful lady called Carol Vickers based in Tregynog who made it for us, she did a fantastic job and it was ready in no time at all! New crockery with a Cath Kidson feel stocks the cupboards as well as several cosy blankets.

Perfect For Self Catering Holidays in Shropshire

The bedroom has been painted a lovely red to give a cosy boudoir feeling, I felt the red was a bit to full on in the bedroom so decided to break it up with some wallpaper on the door panels, yet another great find from Robin and Lucinda’s treasure chest of goodies! This Indian inspired wallpaper is one of a kind, it is stunning and the photos do not do it justice; I saw this paper a while back and fell in love but couldn’t think where to put it!

As you may know we have introduced packages to mid week and out of season weddings BUT that doesn’t mean you have to have one! You can still opt for the DIY wedding that gives you a more bespoke wedding. Alot of brides are buying their own flowers and creating stunning centerpieces themselves for their wedding, not only something to feel proud of but can be cost effective.

Opera A La Carte’s production of ‘Magic Flute’ by Mozart

This year Opera A La Carte presents ‘Magic Flute’ by Mozart performed in English. This wonderful performance will take place in our stunning ballroom here at Walcot Hall on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th June 2012

Guests will be greeted with a champagne reception and the opportunity to have a sumptuous two course meal during the interval served in the Main Hall and Dining room or you may bring a picnic to enjoy in the stunning gardens.

Tickets cost £50 for a standard ticket or £80 for a premium ticket which includes a 2 course meal. Gardens open at 5.00, champagne reception from 6.00 for a prompt 7.30 start.
